6 Days Tour: Tangier → Fes → Merzouga → Marrakech

Overview
This 6-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech combines the spiritual city of Fes, the golden dunes of Merzouga, and the breathtaking landscapes of southern Morocco. You will explore imperial cities, cross the Middle and High Atlas mountains, ride camels into the Sahara, and finish your journey in the vibrant city of Marrakech.

Day 1: Tangier → Chefchaouen

Depart from Tangier and drive through the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, known for its blue-washed Medina and peaceful atmosphere. Enjoy a walking tour through its charming alleys, the main square, and the Spanish Mosque viewpoint. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

After breakfast, leave Chefchaouen toward the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis for a guided visit. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you can see Bab Mansour, Lahdim Square, and the Royal Stables. Arrival in Fes in the late afternoon. Overnight in Fes.

Day 3: Fes – Guided Visit of the Medina

Spend the day discovering the cultural and religious heart of Morocco with a local guide. Visit the Medersa Bou Inania, the oldest university Al-Qarawiyyin, the tanneries, artisanal souks, and the panoramic viewpoints over the Medina. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Travel through the Middle Atlas, passing the cedar forest of Azrou and Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland.” Continue towards Midelt and descend into the Ziz Valley with its palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. Camel ride across the dunes to your desert camp. Enjoy dinner, music, and a night under the stars. Overnight in a desert camp.

Day 5: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Wake up early for sunrise, then return to Merzouga village. Drive toward the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive canyons, where you can walk between its high cliffs. Continue to Dades Valley, known for its rock formations and kasbahs. Overnight in Dades.

Day 6: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

Continue along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to Ouarzazate. Visit the Kasbah Taourirt or the film studios, then drive to Ait Ben Haddou, the UNESCO kasbah used in many films and series. Cross the High Atlas mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka Pass and reach Marrakech in the evening. End of the tour.
