Day 1: Fes to Merzouga Desert
Your private adventure begins in Fes with an early departure toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Travel through Ifrane, a charming mountain town known for its clean streets, forested surroundings and distinctive architecture. Continue to Azrou and cross the beautiful cedar forests before heading toward Midelt. The route then follows dramatic mountain landscapes toward the Ziz Valley, where panoramic viewpoints offer spectacular views over the palm groves and rocky scenery. Continue through Erfoud, an important gateway to the Sahara known for fossils and dates, before reaching Merzouga. In the afternoon, prepare for your desert adventure with a camel ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset from the dunes before reaching your Sahara desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner, local music and a peaceful evening beneath the stars. Spend your first night in a comfortable desert camp in Merzouga.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert to Dades Gorges
Wake early to enjoy the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at the desert camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and continue your journey west. Travel through the desert landscapes toward Rissani, then continue through the changing scenery of southeastern Morocco. Visit the spectacular Todra Gorge near Tinghir, where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of the valley. Enjoy time to walk through the gorge and appreciate the natural scenery. Continue toward the Dades Valley and its famous winding road, surrounded by red rock formations and traditional villages. Arrive near the Dades Gorges in the afternoon and check into your accommodation. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this beautiful valley and spend your second night near the Dades Gorges.
Day 3: Dades Gorges to Marrakech
After breakfast, continue toward Marrakech through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco. Travel through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara. Continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most impressive historic ksars. Explore the traditional earthen architecture and enjoy time for photographs. After the visit, cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of Morocco’s most scenic mountain routes. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys before descending toward Marrakech. As you approach the Red City, the landscape gradually changes from mountains to fertile plains.
